The EODS training for legal and election analyst (LEAFR) aimed at providing election observation practitioners with tools and knowledge to participate in Core Teams as legal and election analysts.
The training was delivered in French, focused on developing participants’ skills on reporting mission findings and analysis for the Preliminary Statement and the Final Report.
During the course, participants were introduced to topics relevant to the work of a Legal and Election analysts in an EU election observation mission, with a special emphasis on roles and responsibilities, international obligation, commitments and good practice related to elections, electoral systems, voter legislation, international public law, and electoral disputes resolution.
The training combined presentations, discussions and case studies. In addition to this, there were written exercises aiming at developing participants’ reporting skills. Participants received a feedback on these exercises and on their overall performance.
