Senior electoral expert seminar on EOM Political Impact and Methodology

On April 2nd 2014, EODS organized a senior electoral expert seminar to discuss electoral observation missions political impact and methodology. Having to deal with these issues, the meeting was chaired by EEAS, with FPI and EODS participation.

Participants shared their views on how European Union electoral observation missions (EOMs) operate within a specific political context and how they are affected by it. The agenda also included an exchange of views on the political impact of EOMs (in particular, of its statements, press releases, final report) and after the mission through the recommendations and follow up.

A discussion on the latest methodology developments was also included on the agenda. This meeting also was intended to collect feedback information from senior exoerts on the current functioning of the EU EOMs.
