Online election campaign monitoring

Possible development of a methodology to monitor election campaigning on the internet was discussed during the expert seminar held at EODS on 4-6 February. The significance of digital communications technologies – in particular social platforms – in election campaigns has expanded in recent years and the internet has become one of the main fora for campaigning, and for political debate in general. Therefore, EODS brought together some 30 experts and scientists working in the field of social media monitoring, as well as EOM media analysts, to identify possible tools that could help election observers assess the conduct of online campaigns.
