The EODS training for the position of Legal and Human Rights experts in EU EOMs aimed to provide election practitioners with tools and knowledge to participate in EU EOM Core Teams.
During the course, participants were introduced to topics relevant to the work of a core team member in an EU election observation mission, with an special emphasis on international obligations, commitments and good practice related to elections, electoral systems, political party legislation, international public law, and electoral disputes resolution. Particular attention was dedicated to develop participants skills on reporting mission findings and analysis for the Preliminary Statement and the Final Report, as well as for the recommendations.
The training combined presentations, discussions and case studies. In addition to this, there were reporting exercises aiming at developing participants’ skills in line with EU EOM reporting requirements.
