Konrad Olszewski has been working in the field of elections for 20 years, taking part in election observation missions as well as providing technical assistance and advice in some 40 countries. He started his professional career in 1990 as a journalist of the first independent Polish newspaper established following democratic reforms. In 1996, he joined United Nation Volunteers to help organize the first post-war elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also worked with United Nations in Croatia, Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa and Tajikistan. Between 2000 and 2010, he was employed by Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights) as the Election Adviser and the Deputy Head of the Elections Department. Since 2010, he is working as independent consultant/election expert mainly with European Union, OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
