The EODS Communications Coordinator, Cláudia Aranda, joined for a short period between the legislative and the presidential elections the EU Election Observation Mission deployed in Colombia, as part of her responsibilities in supporting the development and coordination of the communication strategy for EU election missions. The purpose of this visit was to collect lessons learned for future missions by observing on the ground the implementation of the EU EOM Press Officers' broader scope of work in the visibility and communication context and identify possible challenges faced by the Press Officers. While in Bogotá, the expert has also worked closely with the Press Officer and the Deputy Chief Observer to collect information about the EOM in Colombia communication strategy and key messages and its impact enhancing public confidence in the electoral process.
