The Election Observation and Democracy Support (EODS) project organised a training for Social Media Analysts in European Union Election Observation Missions (EU EOMs), from 18 to 21 October 2022. The training gathered 10 participants from 10 different EU Member-States, including Bulgaria, France, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain. The training aimed to provide tools and methodological guidance to enable participants to set up a Social Media Monitoring Unit in EU EOMs, as well as drafting reports and recommendations. Approaches to identify hateful content and information manipulation, as well as to analyse and visualize data collected on social media, were also addressed.
