Electoral Conflict discussed in Lima

EODS Training Coordinator, Jordi Barrat, participated in Lima, Peru, in a conference on “Electoral conflict in Latin America and the Caribbean - Causes, lessons learned and prevention measures”. The event brought together Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs), academic and civil society representatives from 18 countries to jointly analyse the causes of conflict, share lessons and good practices identified over the years, and propose measures to mitigate their effects. Jordi Barrat was part of a panel discussion on “Election Observation: the independent look to give confidence to the process”. The event was organised by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and took place on 29 and 30 October. The different panel discussions are available here:
