The training provided potential election analysts with additional tools to assess the work of an election administration It discussed the different types of election management bodies (EMBs). The training touched upon EMB functions and structures. The training also paid special attention to voter registration procedures, typologies and the use of biometric technologies.
Participants were also introduced to topics relevant to the work of an election analyst in an EU election observation mission, with a special emphasis on roles and responsibilities, international obligation, commitments and good practice related to elections, electoral systems, EU EOM reporting and recommendations drafting e-day observation forms and interpersonal skills, among others.
The training combined presentations, discussions and case studies. In addition to this, there were reporting exercises aiming at developing participants’ skills. Participants received a feedback on these exercises.
